Volunteer Opportunities
Whether you're joining us for Community Meals, Dinner Church, Young Adult ministry, or tending the Good News Garden, our volunteer intention is the same: if you volunteer with us, you're uplifting and joining our community. You might greet guests at the door, chop vegetables alongside our cooks, set tables with care, wash dishes while swapping stories, or dig in the garden soil knowing what you plant will feed your neighbors. Whatever role you take, you're not just helping—you're becoming part of something bigger. Every hand that helps, every smile that welcomes, every conversation shared—these aren't just tasks, they're acts of building beloved community where hospitality transforms the host as much as the guest.
The Friendship Table is rooted in Christian faith and practice, but you don't need to share our faith tradition to volunteer with us. We simply ask that you share our commitment to dignity, justice, and ensuring everyone has a seat at the table. Whether for a one-time event or for the long haul, we're happy you're here with us.
Internships
Grow with us while helping us grow. Our internship program offers passionate individuals hands-on nonprofit experience in community care and food justice while building our capacity to serve. You'll work on meaningful projects in communications, programs, food systems, or community organizing—gaining real skills, mentorship, and the chance to contribute to work that matters.
The Friendship Table is rooted in Christian formation and New Monastic practices, but you don't need to be Christian to intern with us. We don't proselytize—we simply invite you to experience how faith and justice work together in our community. We welcome people from all backgrounds who are open, curious, and willing to engage respectfully with the spiritual rhythms that shape our work. This means participating in practices like communal prayer with an open heart, asking questions, and bringing your own perspective—not converting to our beliefs. If you care about justice, belonging, and ensuring everyone has a seat at the table, there's a place for you here.
