A Note from our Steward

Friends,

I believe in belonging. Every person who comes to the table is already known and already loved. Hunger, as many of us have experienced and seen, isn't only physical. It's the ache to be seen, to be welcomed, to find our place among others.

And so much of that belonging is found in rhythms; the steady, ordinary practices of showing up. A shared meal on Tuesday nights. In communion on a Wednesday afternoon. Hands tending the soil and laughter on an early morning in the garden. Prayers offered together as the sun goes down during evening prayer. Simply showing up for those around us in the ways that mean the most. To this point, I hold to a simple conviction:

‍ ‍ Any activity done with love and presence is a spiritual practice.

So for me, feeding our neighbors and following Christ are not two callings but one. To grow food, to set a table, to make space where no one is a stranger, and to insist that good food and a place to belong are not privileges but things every person deserves. This is what it looks like to live out God's love in our corner of High Point. I'm here because I believe the table is holy ground, and I'm grateful to help tend it.

I tend to this community, like our garden, not in front of but from. Beside you, in fellowship, passing the bread, and as a fellow pilgrim on this journey. Learning more everyday about divine presence, discipline, and how to serve our community better.
