Come to our Table

Food is more than fuel—it's a basic human right, a cultural connector, and one of the most fundamental ways we express love and build community. Yet too many of our neighbors face barriers to accessing nourishing meals. At The Friendship Table, we're committed to food justice: the belief that everyone deserves nourishing food, shared in spaces that honor their dignity and humanity.

Every third Friday of the month, we host a free community meal where everyone truly belongs. These gatherings are more than dinner service—they're an expression of our deepest belief that no one should eat alone, go hungry, or feel excluded from community. Our meals are spaces where strangers become friends, where loneliness gives way to laughter, and where everyone contributes to the sacred work of building and uplifting community.

We cook with care and serve with dignity because we know that food is never just food. It's connection. It's welcome. It's a reminder that you matter. Whether you're facing food insecurity, looking for friendship, or simply want a home-cooked meal and warm company, there's a seat here for you.

No registration forms. No questions asked. Just good food, genuine hospitality, and the chance to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Come once or come every month—you're always welcome at our table.

The Practice and Spiritual Root of Our Table

Throughout history, the table has been a sacred space—a place where Jesus ate with outcasts, where prophets called for justice, where communities were born and sustained. Our monthly community meals, continue this ancient practice. We gather as an act of faith, believing that God's abundance is meant to be shared and that every person reflects the divine image. When we break bread together, we're not just feeding bodies; we're nurturing souls, building beloved community, and living out the radical hospitality at the heart of the Gospel.

Partner in Community With Us

Volunteering at The Friendship Table looks different than you might expect. We don't ask people to serve and leave—we ask them to serve and stay. To cook and then sit down together. To set the table and then pull up a chair.

This is intentional. We believe that real community happens when we break down the walls between "helper" and "helped," when we recognize that we all have something to give and we all have needs to be met. Our volunteers aren't separate from our community—they are our community.

We welcome individuals and groups to join us in:

  • Greeting guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere

  • Assisting with meal preparation in the kitchen

  • Setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and decorations

  • Supporting the flow of dinner service

  • Washing dishes and cleaning up

All roles are in flexible shifts, and all volunteers share in the meal and fellowship.
