Work alongside us. Become a fellow.

The Friendship Table Fellowship is a New Monastic community experience for young adults who want to explore the intersection of faith, justice, non profit work and living in sacred rhythm and community.

Fellows commit to a one-year cohort, living alongside community members while serving in our garden, kitchen ministries and engaging in our spiritual formation program.

IS THIS YOUR SEASON?

A space for young people in transition.

Whether it’s a Gap year, between degrees, before a first job, or just wanting something different - the Fellowship is a year of creativity, and discernment for whoever's in an in-between season.

We hope to welcome Fellows roughly between 21 and 30 — though we'd never want a number to hold you back. If this stirs something in you, let's talk.

SPACE TO BECOME

It's a year you make your own.

The garden, volunteer commitments, and the rhythms of prayer and formation shape the week — but beyond that, the time is yours, to chase what you're passionate about.

Poetry - Music - Craftsmanship - Art - Etc.

Bring your gifts and curiosity and we’ll make space for them

LIFE AS A FELLOW

Held in community, with what you need.

We're a New Monastic community — becoming a Fellow means entering an agreement to live our Rule of Life with us for the year, ordinary rhythms of prayer, hospitality, and shared life.

Our community spans every age, not just young adults — you'll be woven into a whole, intergenerational life together.

Host-home housing

A room and a place at the table in a community member's home — come ready to share life with others.

Meals together

Around four dinners most weeks, plus weekday lunch. Breakfast is on your own.

A paid stipend

So you can give yourself to the work and discernment without financial strain.

THE FIVE RHYTHMS

Prayer · Work · Table · Neighbor · Rest

A Sample week in the Rhythm

Each week is shaped by the same gentle rhythm of formation, hands-on work, shared meals, and true rest. Here's what a typical one looks like.

A sample rhythm — the particulars shift with the seasons and the life of the community.

For your discernment

Some questions to sit with.

There are no right answers here, only honest ones. As you consider our fellowship program, these are some of the questions we’ll explore together.

- Where do you sense God or a deeper call stirring in this season of life?

- What is drawing you toward a season of intentional Christian community?

- Can you welcome a stranger to the table as readily as a friend - and let yourself be welcomed the same way?

- What is it like for you to truly rest - to stop working, even when there's more to do?

- This isn't a year without - it's a year of less: less space, less schedule of your own, fewer things. Where might that simplicity feel like a relief, and where might it feel like a stretch?

We'll carry these with you through the process — they're an invitation to reflect, not a test to pass.

HOW TO APPLY

Applying is the first step of discernment.

This isn't a hiring process, it's a shared listening for whether this is the right year, for you and for us. Here's the path we'll walk together.

It starts when you reach out and send in your application, the first step of saying yes to discernment, with no pressure to have it all figured out.

From there, Our Steward will talk with you about your interest, answer your questions, and offer a few things to sit with along the way.

When it feels right, we'll invite you to come meet us in person, share a Dinner Church meal or spend a morning in the garden, and get a real feel for our life together.

That's usually followed by a deeper conversation with our Steward, and likely our board chair, to go further into hopes, questions, and fit.

From there, we discern the call together, and if it's yes, we'll welcome you as the new cohort begins.

NOT SURE A FULL YEAR IS YOUR PATH?

You belong here, Fellow or not.

The Fellowship is one way in, not the only one. If you're nearby, come share a meal at Dinner Church or get your hands in the soil with us in the garden — there are so many ways to be part of this community.
