The Good News Garden

High Point has long struggled with food insecurity. Rather than start one more pantry, we grow what the existing pantries and agencies need most: fresh vegetables that are hard to come by on a tight budget, and hand it straight to the people already serving our neighbors well.

In 2025 our garden produced more than 700 pounds of produce. Every bed is tended by volunteers and Fellows working side by side through the seasons.

We also lend our hands to the Society of St. Andrew (SoSA), gleaning fields of produce that would otherwise be left behind and carrying it straight to our local food pantries and the Food Hub at Growing High Point, one more way we get to be part of feeding our neighbors.

Our name is drawn from the Episcopal Church's Good News Gardens movement, which calls congregations to grow and share food as an act of the Gospel.
